Drawing your reader in straight away is one of the most important ways to keep someone reading. It can be daunting (or quite frankly, downright stressful!) to come up with a line that might either make or break your story.

A fun challenge would be to start a story with some fun dialogue! These may work better with short stories where you have less wordcount to develop to the extent you might a novel, but that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t start a novel with a bit of interesting dialogue!
